C4P31 – Break it

If you’re reading this, the auto-update worked and I am still in Seattle Washington having a blast with me ol’ college pals. I hope everybody had a fantastic weekend!
Bed-time stories were always a favorite activity of mine growing up. I actually refused to learn to read for years, because I was worried my mom would stop reading to me before bed! My favorites, even beyond picture books, were the stories my father would make up. He’d turn off the lights and tell me tales of “The Little Boy on the Farm” — dramatized versions of events from his childhood. Man, getting all melancholy and nostalgic just thinking about it.
Do you have a cherished childhood tradition?

I am rapidly growing to LOVE Pakku. I kind of knew from the start I would, but it’s getting a bit out of hand.
My family are all medieval reenactors in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism). My parents quit when I was born because they didn’t have the money or time anymore, but as a child I heard the stories of the things they’d done in their time as part of it. It was amazing because they were all real-life adventures, tournaments, feasts, battles, masquerades… when I got older, I convinced them to join up again. Now we’re all members, and I’ve even gotten to meet some of the ‘characters’ I heard about growing up.
I have a friend who is very active in the SCA!! I never thought about how it would be for a kid growing up — how magical and exciting parents would seem! Something that few people do, that would be special just to your family. That’s so exciting that it’s now something you can all enjoy!
Any significance to the moths above the children’s beds?
Also, young Pakku is just too cute. I want to snuggle him.
A very old symbol for the Rainbow Goddess is the moth. In fact, in the original mythologies she had nothing to do with rainbows at all! That came later, in the same time period as Vision’s rise in power. While many have forgotten the connection, moths are still seen as her messengers, bearers of dreams.
It is at this time that I will casually drop this here. And then whistle nonchalantly. *cough* bottom left corner *cough*
