C3P15 – Start it now

You heard the man. THE TIME IS NOW.
No doubt, this is one of those mob dance things. They’re all going to jump up and start doing the Thriller. Pakku’s going to be sad he missed it! He’s gonna come back and there’ll be a disco ball hanging from the ceiling, and confetti, and a live mariachi band…
Just wait. It’s gonna be big.

How can it be big when the man they were hoping to recruit as their lead dancer has run off in a panic? D:
(Great page by the way. The drama! :O)
The show must go on! I’m sure they’ll recruit someone from the audience to make up for it. Possibly at gun-point. *GASP SPOILERSTH*
Pfft, who needs Thriller when you’ve got hammerpants? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCHqLCbb8P4
Can’t touch this! Doo-do-do-doot, da-doot, da-GOSH DARN IT NOW THIS IS GOING TO BE STUCK IN MY HEAD FOREVER!
(For some reason, this totally reminded me of the opening narration of Avatar. Maybe just because of the dramatic pause of awesome.)
I don’t know. I can’t see Pakku as the dancy type. He would criticize his partner’s outfit, and if any of the instruments were even a little out of tune, he would leave.
I don’t know, doesn’t that just make him a diva? All he needs is… a proper flounce. “I can’t /work/ in these conditions!”
Oh dear. Robin, Pakku, I’m sorry.
Never apologize for speaking the truth, AriadneArca.
That, or dive into the orchestra pit to attempt to tune the offending instrument. “YOUR STRINGS MUST BE STRAINED!”
…Do you read Lackadaisy? Because I just realized that Pakku totally reminds me of Mordecai. Only without the murderous streak.
I do! I actually had the same thought the other day when I saw the human version of Mordecai in this image. I hadn’t made the connection before, because Pakku reminds me much more of Mordin from ME2 and Robert Downey Jr.’s Sherlock Holmes.
http://tracyjb.deviantart.com/art/Lackadaisy-Quick-fix-76671306?q=gallery%3Atracyjb%2F22241420&qo=66 This is actually the comic that made me think of it. (Clearly, Pakku needs a burly Slavic man to balance out his OCD tendencies.)
A live mariachi band?! That’s good, because the undead ones never get tired, and eventually you have to dismember them to get the noise to stop…
That, and the moaning! The unending howls, the groans, the screeching and — Oh, wait, sometimes that’s the live ones too…Whoops…
Well, sure, if you dismember the live ones you’re gonna get the howls and screeching! Whoops, indeed!
Fortunately, a large tip is usually enough to get the living type to move elsewhere – I suggest you try that in future cases…
Also, when I clicked on the link you mentioned above on dec 4th – http://tracyjb.deviantart.com/#/d4gz9s3 , it just takes me to Tracy’s dev profile, which isn’t a bad thing, really (love her stuff), but not terribly useful in determining the actual pic you intended. Maybe this one?
Or perhaps Clockwork? I can’t really imagine Pakku packing (heat, that is)…
That is really odd – when I click on it, it takes me to . Oh DA, why is your coding so weird??
I’m a huge fan of Tracy as well, since about…2000 or 2001 I think. She was one of my first inspirations to start telling stories, because her images were so evocative! I was always hungry to learn more about the rich settings, the expressive characters, and in turn I wanted to bring that same energy to my own work. I still have a long way to go, but at least I always know who to look for when I need inspiration!
And the idea of Pakku packing heat is simultaneously wondrous and terrifying. I can’t decided if he’d be one hell of a shot or…no, no I think he’d hate the lack of precision if the results of his shooting where poor. Or asymmetrical. Not to mention the NOISE and the STENCH. Simply outrageous!
