C03P37 – Promise

I meant to point this out earlier but it slipped my mind – there’s a new About section for the Moko Press team! This year I really wanted to get to a Monday-Wednesday-Friday update schedule, but I knew I just could not make that happen on my own. So Rianale and Phantom signed on to help with color blocking, and these past few pages have been the first that they worked on. With their help, we’ve sped up page production and are on-course for a new schedule on LeyLines’ birthday in March!!
As for this page, I always love working on expression-heavy scenes. This one was particularly fun, what with Zhiro’s banged up face. What do you think is going through his mind?

Woooo!!!
Also, dang–Robin i really love the look of Zhiro’s beads in the first panel there, the reflective light on them is beautiful
I love coloring those beads for exactly that reason. Reflective light is fun!
Hrmmm…What does she have planned?
Guess you’ll have to wait until next week.
Zhiro seems to have an infinite amount of trust in Mizha…but i’m sure he’s also thinking that if anything should happen to her, he’ll never forgive himself.
I hadn’t actually thought about it, but you’re right. Zhiro has an infinite amount of unreasoning trust in Mizha, even though he has a very good reason not to. Sometimes I think he trusts the Mizha he WANTS her to be.
This page makes me happy, even though all I want to do is hug poor little Zhiro and give him an icepack for that eye.
If I was Zhiro I would be thinking “Why aren’t you concerned about Tama? He’s getting his ass handed to him…”
Pff, Tama will be fine. His head’s too think for any blow to penetrate it anyway.
I don’t really know what either of them are thinking, but I REALLY want to find out! Poor Zhiro, I do agree with earlier comments that he obviously has a lot of trust in her.
Sooooooon my friend. Soooooooon.
Holy crap, the coloring on this page is amazing.
And I’m still wishing Zhiro killed Vekken. Then Tama would be crafting an awesome escape plan that involved the train car curtains, Mizha’s hair tie, and Zhiro’s adorableness. Not getting his butt kicked. D:
(Although I’m super-excited to see what Mizha has in mind here.)
Thank you! It turned out pretty well!
And I would love to see a plan that had Zhiro’s adorableness as a lynchpin to its success. How could it possibly fail?
