C03P35 – Found it

The blood-splatter on this page was made as part of a series one day, because you never know when you’re going to need a wide variety of blood-splatter patterns. I covered the kitchen floor in paper, got out some acrylic paint, and went to town. I think there’s still some spots on the cabinets that I haven’t gotten out…but it was totally worth it.
I’m putting the final touches on the LeyLines Volume One Cover and I’m looking for some reader endorsements! If anybody has something that they think would be good on a book cover, please

Oh this can’t be good!
What? I’m sure he just wants to borrow her mirror so he can check his hair. Stabbing people is messy business, you know!
Agh! The layout of this page is excellent– it’s the first thing I noticed after the shock wore off. There’s such tension in the angles and brilliant contrasts.
Also damn your cliffhangers.
Bwhahaha! I love me some delicious cliff-hangers.
I’m glad the layout works so well! I’m particularly happy with Mizha’s expression in the final panel!
I’m going to be sitting on the edge of every chair until your next page comes out! Beautiful page, Robin!
Thank you! I’m thinking this might be a good page to turn into a banner…although I’m worried it might come across as a little too…slasher?
In the second panel, it’s surprising how much like the Shredder the bad guy looks like.
I had the same thought when I finished this page! No matter that the colors are different – if there’s a helmet and a face mask, all TMNT fans are going to see Shredder. It has been burned into our impressionable minds!
…That sounds like fun, actually. Splatter-painting, not being stalked by a creepy Shredder lookalike.
Also, D:
Welcome to Spiderforest with the rest of us!
So… what happens if at any stage in the future some nice, random policeman wanders into your house for a cuppa and a scone… and notices the old ‘blood’ spots on the cupboard corners and stuff…?
Can you update in the lockup?
They can try and stop me…but I will find a way! COMICS FOREVER! CAN’T STOP THE SIGNAL! *froths at mouth while being carted to the pokey*
She has the same initial reaction I have to the dude’s pose: scared (snot)less. Why do you have to make your bad guys so scary, Robin? He’s giving me the “you’ll see me in your nightmares” look. I do hope he only wants to check his reflection.
Aw, Lu’s a great guy. When he’s not trying to kill somebody. Which is what he’s trying to do most of the time.
But other than that, he’s great! Trust me, you’ll love him eventually.
Nice framing on this page.
Thanks! I was a little nervous with the straight front-angle, but I think it has a more direct impact this way.
