I almost did the caption contest of this page, since I had such fun with the expressions. I love the dynamic between Lu and Milan. They’re just so…incredibly different from one another.

I’ve been caught by Pottermore — And got sorted as a Ravenclaw. Eccentric, quirky, obsessed with intellectual pursuits? Yeah, I’m sure that came as no surprise to anybody…I’m AshHeart29575. Be my friend?

SPEAKING of obsessions, for those of you that share my love mythologies, I’ve released the location for my next storytelling competition – Hades, the Greek Underworld. Complete with the many tributaries of the river Styx, Erebus, Tartarus, and Elysium. And there’s Hecate and the Furies and -! And-! Well, I’ve written a small novel for it all, so if mythology is your cup of tea take a look!

ALSO (man, lot of random news items today, right?) I will be part of a panel on Webcomics at ComicFest, part of Starfest THIS Saturday (4/21) at 11AM! It will be a preview to the TWO Webcomic panels I’ll be in for Denver Comic Con in June!

As part of the SpiderForest comic collective, we’re featuring a Comic of the Week! This week is CHIRAULT: When a wayward spell shrinks a young girl to barely the size of a tin of beans, it is only the start of her adventures. From the shoulder of a wandering demon hunter who is himself a demon, she attempts to find a way back to her previous size. Also, imploding cities.

Yeah, Lu Pai is growing on me.

Robin, what’s the story (groan) on the storytelling competition? I see the map but is there a site describing the competition that I am missing?

The story isn’t up yet. The intro comic will be up in about a month. 🙂

Oh I heard storytelling competition and it caught my interest, but I found the site and it is a visual storytelling project, so that counts me out! 🙂 But I’ll be interested to see the results.

Actually, we accept ALL types of storytellers — writers, artists, animators, interpretive dancers, radio hosts, etc. Judging isn’t based on media you use, but on how well you utilize your media of choice to tell a good story. We evaluate based on Characterization, Storytelling technique, and Creativity.

We DO require a visual reference, so that visual storytellers have an idea how to portray your character. However, you do NOT have to provide the visual reference yourself, and as we near auditions we’ll build a list of people willing to draw for authors without visual-art skills.

If you’re curious about how the competition works, I’ve made a fun visual guide to the process! Please let me know if you have any questions!

God, I love the subtle hints of how Very Wrong things are under the surface of this page. Both for our assassin-y friends and in the society as a whole. There is so much to admire here. 🙂

There’s a reason that they were at war with Pwama for decades. And in both cultures, there are not the friendly accords on the treatment of prisoners that many modern societies in our world employ. So there’s a lot wrong with the world. Much of the worst of it, Lu has either been through, or done.

I am so impressed by this comic.
The amount of world-building and character development you’ve put into it is just astonishing. I can’t wait to see where the story takes us next! =)

(On a side note, I’m taking you up on your friend request offer, fellow Ravenclaw! I’m SandFrog4084. ;))

Thank you so much, Meg!! I love my myriad details — I’m glad it’s paying off! There’s so much I have to show still, it will probably be a decade in the telling!

Huzzah for fellow Ravenclaws! I’m still adjusting to the system, so I’m not quite sure what friends can do together through Pottermore, other than duel each other, which I’m quite frankly awful at. I instead obsess over making potions…Which, come to think of it, sounds like a very RavenClaw thing to do!
