Quite a shift from Kali’s original “I know enough” position.  She still might question a goddess’ motive, but for the first time, she’s willing to extend the benefit of the doubt too.

That’s it for chapter 13! Next update will be feedback day. Then we’ll start a vignette illustrated by Noel Arthur Heimpel. I love their work and I know you will too!

Week three of the SpiderForest new member features!  This week’s theme…

Adventuring: the Advanced Course

: Retired warrior Dionisia’s quiet life as a grandmother is interrupted when an old friend is in need of saving. With her past catching up to her she is about to discover just how magic left her world, and have to decide if it is worth bringing back.

Beneath the Clouds
: Genza, a exiled nobleman-turned-monk, is offered a chance to redeem himself by undertaking a perilous journey to Heian Kyo. Will Genza be prepared to confront his own demons in order to save the life of the man who exiled him, will his daughter Masako make a new life for herself in the city, and does a stranger met on the road offer a chance for a new way forward? PERSONAL NOTE: As someone that has done, and continues to do, a LOT of research on this era, I have to say how impressed I am by the cultural homework this creator has done!

Hex Lovers (NSFW)
: A comedic tale of romance, depression and magic users! Follow the adventures of Blue Wizard & Hex Witch as they survive dungeons, goblins, and long term relationships! Along the way they will encounter both friend, foe and ex-boyfriends.

I’d say Tama too, but even if you made him smile forever he’d find some way to whine about it. (And I won’t say Mizha because she needs to think more about smiling and how she uses it as a defense mechanism.)

I agree that Kali smiling is the best thing and confess to finding an excuse to have at least one scene where she’s happy next chapter. I am going to try to have at least one excuse for Kali smiles per chapter. I expect my drawing experience to increase with tenfold joy.

It feels significant that Kali’s “I know enough” line was in response to “You’ve never even met one!” Now that she *has* met one, perhaps she realizes she didn’t know as much as she thought she did.
