See, this is why I never take naps in the middle of the day.  Always wake up with that “I’ve been trapped in an angry goo monster experiencing another person’s memory” feeling.

I have two exciting announcements to make!

Cory and I have been working with a team of fantastically talented artists to create a brand new series.  It’s called Wavemen, and it’s one of the best projects I’ve ever been a part of.  Episode 1 is a 64 page stand-alone story, much like an episode of TV.  We have it in PDF version and book version.

We also have a SPECIAL SALE going on this month where you can get Episode 1 of Wavemen AND a softcover LeyLines book for just $30.  Great way to start both series, or continue a collection.

I know I’ve talked about it here before, but just to refresh your memory, here’s the back-of-the-book blurb:

Momotaro was only fifteen when fate made him a legend.

Chosen from birth, marked by destiny, and trained as a weapon, Momotaro always knew he was meant for greatness. With the help of three spirit animal companions, he led a suicidal assault on the island fortress of the fearsome Oni King, breaking the source of his evil power once and for all.

All it cost him was his soul.

Momotaro was only fifteen when fate made him a monster.

A year later, an unquiet spirit has returned from the grave, seeking vengeance for a crime long forgotten. Once again, Momotaro is called upon to be a hero. Does he have the strength to protect his home and family, or did he leave that piece of himself behind on Oni island?

Sometimes, you can’t just go home.

Sometimes, the monsters are already there.

Everybody involved in this book put their best effort into it and I couldn’t be happier or more proud. I hope you’ll check it out and pick up a copy for yourself!

On August 19th from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM we’ll be at a special local artist showcase in Colorado Springs at KaPow! Comics & Coffee. Cory and I will be joined by even more fantastic Colorado creatives including Frankie Serna, Barry McClain Jr., Peter J. Wacks, and Bryan Thomas Schmidt. We’ll have all four LeyLines books and our new Wavemen book, so if you’re in the area please come on by!

As per usual, the first of my weekly vlogs for the month are available for anyone to view. If you’d like to see all of my weekly vlogs, just become a patron for $1 a month over on Patreon. There’s also other rewards at higher levels, including early access to pages, a monthly Creator Corner feature, and coaching calls! Thank you to all the amazing folks already over there helping me out.

IN THIS WEEK’S VLOG: This week is a limbo month as I wait for feedback. That means trying to get everything else done that’s fallen through the cracks in the meantime. Plus, taking the time today to thank people for sharing my work with others. The power of word-of-mouth recommendations is huge!

If you’re hard of hearing or deaf (or the audio is just too quiet because I’m still figuring out my new vlog set-up) I’ve also started adding closed captioning to my vlogs. Just click the “CC” button in the bottom corner! If you’d like more information on the Cartoonists of Color Database that I mention in the video, it is here!.

Whew! I think that’s everything! Lots of exciting stuff today!

Have I ever mentioned that you do some of the most creative things with panels that I have EVER SEEN and also -shudder- that is creepy help. XD

Thank you. I’m glad you think so! It’s funny with panel design, because I get feedback from folks saying I either do really interesting things with it, or I’m too static and boring with them. I try to be creative, but everybody has different sensibilities.
