Some of you may remember that back in December, when our Kickstarter was unsuccessful, Cory & I sat down and discussed how we’d make volume three a reality.  We decided that we needed to build a nest egg, so that we could pay for half of the book on our own.  Our plan was to do this through an increase in conventions, after school classes, Patreon, etc.  I’m very happy to report that we’re making good progress on that goal.  Right now we’ve raised half of that half, and we’ve still got three conventions to go, including two big events, Phoenix Comicon and Denver Comicon, both in early June.  I’m also working on new merchandise, handling a big commission…heck, we’re even going to be doing a Creative Writing Birthday Party!

I’m really proud of the work Cory and I have done lately, and am exceptionally thankful to those that have been supporting this effort.  Whether it’s chipping in a few bucks a month as a Patron, buying a book or print at a convention booth, or pointing me towards new options to grow.  Slowly, but surely, we’re working up to that milestone.  If all goes well, we’ll be launching a new Kickstarter for book three in July, with a more attainable goal.  I’m allowing myself to get hopeful about this.  I think we can do it, if we keep working hard, adapting, and pursuing opportunities as they present themselves!

Do you have a goal you’re making good progress on?  What are you working towards right now?

I’m glad to hear that you’re making progress on funding volume 3. It has a place waiting on my shelf.

I’m near the end of the 2nd round of edits on my book, and then there’s a bunch of things I need to do after those are done. I am so ready for the next project. 🙂

Eh, considering I have eight (sort of nine) projects I flip around between, let’s put that as leaping progress. (Project takes a leap, hold while I take some for others, come back for a few paltry steps, then have a brainstorm and take another huge leap forward. And occasionally some steps backward…)

And I wonder- what scene is Dream Eater going to walk in on and potentially get Zhiro in a lot of trouble for?

And last- creative writing birthday party? I want! 🙂

Gnee! I am excited for the Kickstarter.

Also, Creative Writing Birthday Party? I don’t know what this is, but it sounds like fun.

Next weekend I am mocking up a website and doing market research so I can start my own little business. Technically it’s for a school project, but there is no reason I can’t multitask. 😉

Dreameater is reminding me more and more of Ed. I love interesting characters with deep, meaningful, and strange world views. I love them to death.
